Mari Ella is a DJ, dancer, podcast host and all around artist originally from Vienna, Austria. After many years of training to become a professional dancer, she moved to New York in the early 2000s and immersed herself into the NYC club scene and culture.
In New York she has played at venues such as Public Records, H0l0, Elsewhere, Nowadays, Jupiter Disco, as well as more vinyl focused venues like BierWax, Eavesdrop and Record Room. Outside of New York, her blend of deep, gritty yet soulful House has taken her to Dante’s Hi-Fi Miami, Portland, Houston and Detroit.
Internationally, she has played at Djoon Club in Paris, MiCasa Festival in Mexico, London, Amsterdam, Zurich & Vienna. She shared line ups with Rich Medina, DJ Spinna, Kenny Dope, Osunlade, Matthew Dear, Patrice Scott, Rimarkable, Rick Wade and many others.
In 2022 she started her own party DEEP WATERS - which prioritizes the dancer in the dark room in front of the speakers - in Brooklyn, NY.
In addition, she hosts and produces the podcast DANCE TO THE MUSIC, focusing on the meaning and importance of “dance” in dance music. It is available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts & YouTube.
